Carolyn Griffiths

Carolyn Griffiths is a Faculty Associate in Disability Studies in the School of Humanities, Arts and Cultural Studies at Arizona State University (ASU). Dr. Griffiths primarily teaches Introduction to Disability Studies, the Implications of the Many Forms of Disability, and Disability and Community Advocacy.

After earning a BS in Psychology from Northern Arizona University and a Master in Social Work at Arizona State University, Dr. Griffiths completed her PhD in Social Work at The University of Bristol, United Kingdom in 2010. Dr. Griffiths taught social work research methods and supervised practice placements at Durham University. She also assisted with research projects at the University of York, United Kingdom. 

Dr. Griffiths worked in the Medicaid and Medicare arenas for more than ten years, focusing on the long-term care and home and community based service needs for individuals with physical impairments.

Dr. Griffiths scholarly interests fall within the realm of education, health and social care needs of disabled individuals.
