Evan Hoylman is a doctoral student at Arizona State University, where he studies under the direction of Jill Sullivan and the Music Learning & Teaching faculty. He completed his Masters in Music Learning and Teaching at ASU in 2022 with a 4.000 GPA. Mr. Hoylman also teaches K-4 general music in the Alhambra Elementary School District in West Phoenix, where he teaches at a diverse Title I school and is responsible for the musical development of about 400 students. Mr. Hoylman graduated with highest distinction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2019 with a Bachelor of Music Education and a 3.971 GPA. He is a graduate of the UNL Honors Program, where he wrote a senior thesis entitled The Influence of Selected Demographic Factors on the Retention of Middle School Instrumental Music Students under the advisement of NAfME Past President Glenn Nierman. Mr. Hoylman's work has been published in the Journal of Historical Research in Music Education.
