Emma Kogan
Emma Kogan is an Urban Forestry and Business Development Assistant for Urban Nature, a $5 million USDA Forest Service, Urban Community Forestry award. She is responsible for cultivating nursery plants for community heat-mitigation efforts and assisting with broader program operations.
Emma earned her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Sustainability and Design Studies, along with a minor in Global Studies, from ASU.
Prior to her current role, Emma was a Climate Outreach Specialist with the City of Phoenix Office of Sustainability, engaging underserved communities to increase awareness of sustainability incentives like energy-efficient home upgrades and water-saving technologies. Additionally, as an Intern with the North Dakota Clean Cities Coalition, she supported the planning and implementation of local alternative fuel projects to expand the region’s clean transportation network.
Through these opportunities, she’s cultivated a deep passion for advancing sustainable and equitable community development, with a focus on fostering vibrant and resilient communities.
