Denzen Cortez, studies Journalism & Mass Communication with a minor in Political Science at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University
Cortez is a reporter and anchor for Cronkite News on Arizona PBS and an investigative reporter/fellow for the Carnegie-Knight News 21 program. He's a former news & talk intern at KTAR News and a National Association of Hispanic Journalists and Sacramento Press Club member. He currently works as a Production Intern with ABC World News Tonight with David Muir in New York.
He is a 2024 Hearst Journalism National Championship Finalist, placing second for his news piece on transportation during the pandemic. He also won the Best Use of Television for News Coverage Award at the Hearst Championships for his story on migrant families seeking asylum at the border.
