Dr. Tongxin Zhou is an assistant professor in Information Systems at the W. P. Carey School of Business. She joined ASU in 2021 from University of Washington.
Dr. Zhou's research interest lies in the transformational impact of information technology, with specific focuses on healthcare and eCommerce domains. She studies individuals’ behavior dynamics in online healthcare communities, physicians’ interactions with patients through technology, user-generated content on social media, and IT-enabled system designs that facilitate better efficiency and equity. Dr. Zhou uses multidisciplinary methodologies in her research, including econometric and statistical modeling, causal inference, machine learning, and economics. Her work has been published in leading business journals such as Management Science and Information Systems Research. Dr. Zhou has been recognized as a finalist in 2022 ISS Nunamaker-Chen Dissertation Award, 2018 INFORMS eBusiness Best Paper Competition, and 2018 and 2020 CHITA (Conference on Health IT and Analytics) Best Student Paper Competition.
