Gabriel (Gabe) López is a graduate student working on his M.A. in Spanish Linguistics. While working on his B. A in Linguistics with a minor in Spanish Linguistics, he discovered he had several areas of interest in the field. Namely, phonology, sociolinguistics, classical languages, and historical linguistics. He was also a student of the Spanish Heritage Program in SILC, where he became interested in working and learning about Spanish heritage speakers, being one himself. After he graduated with his B.A, he wanted to continue his education while applying his linguistic knowledge to his heritage language and is now pursuing an M.A. in Spanish Linguistics. His areas of interest are phonology, sociolinguistics, heritage language acquisition, and LGBT Linguistics.
