Roger Edgar joined the ASU Foundation in August 2021 as Vice President for Presidential Advancement, supporting President Michael Crow in advancing key university priorities and major philanthropic initiatives.
Prior to joining Arizona State University, Roger served as Executive Director of the London School of Economics (LSE) Foundation in New York City, where he led development efforts across North America and supported three University Presidents, the School’s North American Advisory Board, and major campaign initiatives in the United States and Canada.
Earlier, Roger was Chief Development Officer at Say Yes to Education, a New York–based nonprofit focused on college and career readiness for students from underserved communities. Before that, he served as Managing Director of Cambridge in America (CAm), representing the University of Cambridge (UK) and its Colleges among alumni and friends across the United States. During his tenure, Roger led the U.S. development team that helped secure more than $320 million in North American support as part of the University’s 800th Anniversary Campaign, which raised over $2 billion globally. Pre-campaign commitments included a landmark $210 million gift establishing the Gates Cambridge Scholarship Trust. He also previously served as Acting Director of the LSE Foundation (now the Philanthropy and Global Engagement Office) in London.
Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Roger began his professional journey as a young leader of the Peace and Reconciliation Inter-Schools Movement (PRISM), which brought together Catholic and Protestant teenagers in greater Belfast during the years of civil unrest known as "The Troubles" to promote dialogue and mutual understanding. For this work, he received the BBC Radio 4 “Best of British Youth” Award, presented by HRH Princess Diana.
Roger holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree in Political Science from the University of Leicester.
