Regina Revazova

Regina Revazova is a journalist, audio expert and educator whose career spans international reporting, public radio and podcast entrepreneurship. She is the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Professor of Practice at Arizona State University’s Cronkite School, where she leads the Southwest Health Reporting Initiative and provides editorial oversight as students report on health disparities across the region. Her students’ stories have earned some of journalism’s most prestigious honors, including the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Journalism Award, Edward R. Murrow Awards and multiple SPJ Mark of Excellence Awards. She is also an affiliate faculty member at The Melikian Center: Russian, Eurasian & East European Studies.

Revazova began her career covering the North Caucasus for Memorial’s Kavkaszkiy Uzel and the BBC, later working at NPR headquarters in Washington, D.C. and at NPR member stations in Las Vegas and Phoenix. She went on to found Open Conversation, an award-winning podcast company producing mission-driven audio on issues ranging from global security and sustainable small businesses to freedom of speech and the pandemic’s impact on overlooked communities.
