Amanda is the Instructional Designer for ASU's School of Social and Family Dynamics, where she enjoys supporting faculty and collaborating on inclusive and accessible course design. She serves on SSFD's Accessibility, Generative AI, and Undergraduate Committees, designs and implements faculty teaching workshops, and regularly collaborates on projects related to online and immersion learning, accessibility initiatives, instructional resources, generative AI in teaching and learning, new course and program development, and cross-unit Professional Educator initiatives.
Originally from Ohio and a graduate of Cleveland State University, Amanda taught high school English Language Arts for 10 years before transitioning into instructional design and higher education. She became a Sun Devil in 2018 while completing her M.A. in Learning Sciences and began her instructional design journey with MLFC's Office of Digital Learning in 2021. In addition to her role with SSFD, Amanda supports online undergraduate learning as a co-instructor for MLFC's Educational Studies program. Outside of work, she enjoys birdwatching, traveling, reading, and collaging.
