Maria Moreno directs the Hispanic Mother-Daughter Program (HMDP) at
Arizona State University and has served in this role for the past
three years. The HMDP is an early outreach educational program that is
designed to raise the educational and career aspiration of
Latinas. Ms. Moreno is passionate about educating first
generation Latina students about the university admissions process and
developing their leadership skills.
Prior to this assignment,
Ms. Moreno served as the Phoenix High School Program Advisor for HMDP
for four years. She has worked with various the non-profit
organizations, such as Southwest Behavioral Health, Youth ETC., and
Advocates for the Disabled. Ms. Moreno holds a Bachelor of Social Work
and a Master of Education in Higher and Postsecondary Education from
Arizona State University.
