Hana Roushdy

I am a dedicated pre-med student majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with focuses in Studio Art and Biological Sciences. I hope to pursue an MD with a focus in cancer research, with a goal of becoming a physician-scientist who develops new treatments, diagnostic tools, and prevention methods for cancer. Breast cancer is a field close to my heart because of my mother’s diagnosis and the experiences of other women in my family.

My journey into medicine has been shaped by hands-on experiences in clinical, research, and community settings. During my time at the Baheya Cancer Institute in Egypt, I worked closely with breast cancer patients, gaining valuable insights into both research and patient care. These experiences have strengthened my passion for combining research and medicine to improve people’s lives.

I am especially interested in programs that support students from underrepresented or economically disadvantaged backgrounds in STEM and healthcare. My journey has taught me the importance of teamwork, leadership, and communication—skills I use in every project I take on.

I am excited to keep learning and growing as I work toward a career in medicine. I hope to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and in cancer research.
