Long Bio
Fabián Díaz Chacín is a first-year PhD student in Spanish at Arizona State University. He earned an Associate Degree in World Languages with a focus on English and Spanish, a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish at ASU, and a Master’s Degree in Spanish at The University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
Before pursuing graduate studies in the United States, he taught high school chemistry and biology for more than ten years in his hometown of Maracaibo, Venezuela. In Washington State, he worked as both an English and Spanish tutor at Shoreline Community College, and in 2025 he served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
He is currently teaching SPA 201 at ASU, where his focus is on helping students engage with Spanish as both a language and a cultural experience. His academic and professional path reflects a dedication to education, student success, and the power of language to connect communities.
