Leo Barcellos joined W. P. Carey in 2022 after completing his PhD at Emory University. His research focuses on the judgment and decision making of investors, managers, analysts, and other social actors involved in the preparation, communication, and use of accounting information. Professor Barcellos teaches External Reporting I to undergraduate students. Before his doctoral education, Leo held several positions related to planning, budgeting, and auditing in his home country, Brazil, where he is a CPA. He has also been on the faculty of the largest university in Brazil, the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where he taught financial and managerial accounting courses from 2014 to 2017. In his free time, Leo enjoys spending time with his wife and sons.
