Victoria Banuelos joins Learning Enterprise as the Marketing Director for ASU Local and will be working in LA at HEX. Victoria graduated from UC San Diego with degrees in Communications and International Relations and obtained her MS in Communication from the Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University. She draws on a decade of experience in strategic communication management and content strategy to understand how organizations foster a greater sense of belonging with external partners, stakeholders, and users. Victoria has led strategic communication initiatives in the private and public sectors and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®).
Victoria is committed to supporting nonprofits with impact and serves on the Young Professionals Advisory Board for the Los Angeles Music and Arts School. She also enjoys volunteering for LAUSD. After several years of conversations with Latinx students about their college and workplace concerns, Victoria began to notice a pattern in their challenges. Not only did she relate, but wanted to explore what other Latinx business leaders and entrepreneurs faced in the first five years of their careers and how they accelerated their leadership potential.
This became the framework for her book, First-Gen, NextGen: A Guide to Thriving as a First-Generation Latinx in the Next Generation of the American Workforce. The book focuses on the first five years of a young professional’s career and examines the workplace through the lens of first-gen Latinx individuals and the cultural factors that shape their experiences. It was published by New Degree Press in October 2021 and debuted as an Amazon Top New Release.
When she’s not on TikTok under the pretense of “marketing research,” Victoria enjoys spending time with her husband and German Shepherd, Samosa.
