Long Bio
Shemar Woods most recently served as the Senior Editor and Editorial Director at Sports Illustrated, leading the nights-and-weekends desk with responsibility for editorial oversight and leadership of the newsroom staff.
A 2011 graduate of Hampton (Va.) University, his background includes the role of Digital Sports Director at the Philadelphia Inquirer. He previously served a two-year stint as the Homepage Editor at MLB.com, where he supervised nightly content production for all 30 team sites. His professional journey also encompasses management roles at respected media outlets such as the New York Daily News, ESPN New York and ESPN.
Woods interned at the Washington Post and is an alumnus of the Sports Journalism Institute and the Chips Quinn Scholars Program.
