Mihir Patel is a Chemical Engineering M.S. Graduate from Arizona State University, working as a Graduate Researcher under the mentorship of Dr. Eileen Seo at the Biodesign Center for Sustainable Macromolecular Materials and Manufacturing (SM3) on the development of sustainable, self-healing polymer nanocomposites. His research focuses on engineering recyclable materials by tuning interfacial interactions between gold nanoparticles and polymer matrices to balance mechanical performance and healing efficiency. Mihir’s work involves the synthesis, processing, and characterization of soft composite systems that integrate enthalpic and entropic design principles to address the brittleness of conventional self-healing frameworks. He was awarded the prestigious MORE (Master's Opportunities for Research Experience) Research Fellowship from ASU in recognition of his contributions to innovative materials research. Mihir plans to continue his research career in advanced materials development with a focus on circular economy and waste reduction technologies.
- M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Arizona State University (2023-2025)

Research in the E. Seo group is focused on designing, synthesizing, and characterizing soft polymeric and hybrid materials at the interface of polymer chemistry, additive manufacturing, self-assembly, and nanotechnology. We strive to establish structure-property relationships and develop sustainable polymeric materials from stimuli-responsive macromolecular and nanostructures.
Currently, Mihir is associated with the subgroup focused on Polymer networks with stimuli-responsive nanoparticles as crosslinks
