Long Bio
Jessica Wicks-Allen is an assistant professor of African American history in the School of Humanities, Arts and Cultural Studies. Her research interests include Black women, slavery, emancipation, the Civil War and Reconstruction. She is currently at work on a book project that explores Black motherhood during the American Civil War and its aftermath.
