Phil Reckers joined the ASU faculty in 1980. He served as director of the School of Accountany from 1993-2002 and again from 2012-2015. Reckers is an experimentalist and his research areas include cognition, auditing, managerial accounting and tax. Prior to ASU, he held an academic position with University of Maryland. Reckers was an adjunct professor at the University of Notre Dame from 2002 - 2010.
Among Professor Reckers' awards are the 2013 Outstanding Auditing Educator Award, American Accounting Association (AAA), Auditing Section; Federation of Schools of Accountancy: Joseph A. Silvoso Lifetime Achievement Award, 2006; and AAA 2003 Innovation in Accounting Education Award. He was the vice president of AAA (2007-2009), the vice president of APLG (2001-2002, 2005-2009); and president of the Federation of Schools of Accountancy in 2001.
