Ina Seok (ee-na see-oak) is an educator who is passionate about elevating the quality of instruction, and developing educators to build their capacity. She most recently served as a founding principal at an elementary school in Los Angeles, where she demonstrated her leadership skills and spearheaded the development of a successful academic program. Prior to this, Ina worked as a director of charter school organizations, including Rocketship Education in San Jose, CA, and Explore Schools in Brooklyn, NY. In this role, she collaborated with school leaders and teachers across 18 schools in multiple states, gaining valuable insights into how to positively influence educators and raise the quality of instruction with a relentless commitment to equity and anti-racism.
Ina holds a B.A. in Political Economy from University of California, Berkeley, and began her career in education as a Teach for America corps member and a first-grade teacher in San Jose. Her experiences in the classroom motivated her to pursue further studies, and she subsequently obtained an M.A. in Economics and Education and an M.Ed. in School Leadership from Columbia University.
Ina's expertise in leadership and educational policy has been honed through her experience in national scale projects, which have enabled her to develop a nuanced understanding of the challenges facing leaders and educators today. She is a passionate advocate for education reform and is dedicated to improving student outcomes through evidence-based practices and innovative programs.
