Cristina Ibarra is a multiple Sundance award-winning filmmaker and a genre-bending, cinematic border-crosser. Her 20-year film practice crosses the borders of cinematic language and of the Texas-Mexico social and cultural landscape. Her award-winning docu-thriller, The Infiltrators, was broadcast on the acclaimed PBS series POV. She’s the recipient of fellowships from Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans, Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation, Firelight Media, and Creative Capital. Ibarra is a 2021 MacArthur Fellow. She is an associate professor in The Sidney Poitier New American Film School.
