KaRa Lyn Thrasher [kah-rah lin] is committed to cultivating inclusive, connected, and resilient individuals, organizations, and communities. With extensive experience in higher education, non-profit, and civic-minded sectors, she excels in facilitation, program design, and project management, empowering people and building organizational capacity. Her academic background, international exposure, and personal experiences further enhance her adaptability and forward-thinking approach.
In her role as Project Manager at the Center for the Future of Arizona, KaRa Lyn facilitates the execution of civic health initiatives. She leads the statewide expansion of the School Participatory Budgeting initiative that enables students to ‘learn democracy by doing.’ Additionally, as a member of the Made By Us National Youth250 Bureau, she consults with organizations to design programming and services that resonate with Gen Z, coinciding with the United States’ 250th anniversary. By empowering youth to embrace civic responsibility, she aims to foster trust in public institutions and enhance their engagement with the communities they serve.
Having lived in many places, KaRa Lyn proudly embraced Arizona as her home after relocating in 2021. She earned her Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of West Georgia, complemented by a dual degree in International Business from École Supérieure de Commerce Et de Management. Passionate about building better futures, she volunteers with organizations like the YWCA of Metropolitan Phoenix and IDEAS Generation, which focus on addressing racial and social disparities.
Outside of her professional commitments, KaRa Lyn cherishes quality time with loved ones, exploring the beauty and complexities of our world through travel, and indulging in reading and writing.
