Ira A Fulton Engineering
I am an undergraduate student in Aerospace Engineering (Astronautics) graduating in Spring 2027. My work operates at the intersection of nature, engineering, and space exploration, with a specialized focus on astronautics, bio-inspired robotics, and machine learning.
My research spans the development of aquatic robots, bio-inspired marine sensors, ML-optimized microfluidic devices, lab automation, and quantum computing, culminating in over seven peer-reviewed publications. Within the ASU ecosystem, I have gained extensive technical experience as a Research Aide, contributing to the Ocean and Soft Intelligent Structure Interaction Lab, the Earley Lab for Molecular Quantum Dynamics, and the Biodesign Swette Center for Environmental Biotechnology. Beyond the lab, I am deeply committed to engineering education and mentorship, serving as an Executive Section Leader for SEMTE, an Instructional Aide (IA) for Introduction to Fluid Mechanics (MAE 242), and a UGTA for Advanced Math Methods (MAE 384).
Beyond the traditional laboratory setting, I am deeply involved in applied astronautics and autonomous systems. I recently served as the Vice Commander for a HI-SEAS analog astronaut mission on the volcanic lava fields of Hawai'i and completed specialized training with the Advanced PoSSUM Academy. When I am not in the lab or building hardware, I enjoy flying planes, leading robotics outreach programs in underserved communities, and designing the next generation of autonomous machines.
