Richard C. Coyne joined the faculty at ASU as a faculty associate in
2002, while also working in that capacity at nearby Glendale Community
College. In 2007 he was appointed a lecturer in ASU's New College.
Following his graduation-with-honors from the University of
Illinois-Urbana, where he received his B.S. in chemical engineering,
Coyne served as a Peace Corps volunteer, teaching mathematics and
general science at a Teacher Training College in Ghana. Upon his
return to the States and graduate degree work at Illinois-Chicago, he
taught high school math in the Windy City before embarking on a
20-year career in telecommunications, conducting technical training
and providing sales and marketing support.
At ASU's West campus, Coyne teaches undergraduate coursework in
calculus, finite mathematics, and math for business analysis.
