Daja Ranger is originally from Wheat Ridge, Colorado, but she considers herself a Phoenician having grown up in the heart of Metro Phoenix. She is a first-generation college student, graduate of Independence High School, and proud Alumna of Northern Arizona University, where she earned her Bachelor degree in Public Health. Most recently, she has earned her Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification. During her undergraduate years, Daja worked closely with first-year students as well as TRIO students where she found a passion for helping with student success. Because of this, it was even more apparent that there are disparities in education that primarily affect students who are first generation, low income, or of minority status. Having realized this, she now uses her expertise to support students as an advisor.
Daja joined the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, where she currently works as an undergraduate Psychology advisor. She helps students in need of support and connects them with the resources they need to be successful and complete their degrees.
