Autumn Pauley is a PhD student in Global Health at Arizona State University (ASU) and an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. Her research explores how food systems, cultural practices, and environmental change shape maternal and infant nutrition, with a particular focus on Arctic and Sub-Arctic regions. She is especially interested in the role of traditional foodways in supporting breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and early-life health.
Drawing from interdisciplinary perspectives in global health, nutrition, anthropology, and community-engaged research, Autumn examines how social, ecological, and cultural environments influence infant feeding practices and health outcomes. Her work seeks to bridge biomedical and public health approaches with local knowledge and lived experience, thereby contributing to more culturally grounded, context-responsive nutrition research.
Beyond her primary research, she is passionate about ethical collaboration, community partnership, and science communication. She is committed to research that not only advances knowledge but also supports community priorities and promotes equitable, sustainable health futures for mothers and infants worldwide.
