Ana is the assistant vice president of strategic marketing and events for ASU Health at Arizona State University. She leads an integrated team of professionals across marketing, communications, events and alumni engagement that builds strong partnerships and deep expertise across the colleges, schools and initiatives they support. This includes ASU Health and its initiatives, the College of Health Solutions, the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation, the School of Technology for Public Health and the John Shufeldt School of Medicine and Medical Engineering.
Ana is a strategic and creative leader who collaborates with faculty, staff and university partners to elevate ASU Health’s interdisciplinary reputation and drive measurable impact in visibility, engagement and institutional positioning. She guides the development of integrated strategies that strengthen the distinct missions and cultures of the colleges and schools she supports, while advancing ASU’s commitment to innovation, inclusion and a healthier future for all.
Before her current role, Ana served as the executive director of strategic marketing and events at ASU’s College of Health Solutions. Her leadership helped amplify the college’s profile and achieve goals in enrollment, retention and engagement.
Prior to joining ASU, Ana served as executive director of marketing, communications and engagement at the University of Arizona's College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. There, she led efforts to elevate the college's visibility, strengthen stakeholder relationships and support its academic and community goals. Ana also held key roles at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona and the Tucson Conquistadores Foundation, where she managed marketing and communications for the PGA TOUR Champions event, Cologuard Classic, as well as community-focused initiatives such as The First Tee of Tucson.
During her time in Florida, Ana developed a strong and diverse professional background. At American International Group, Inc. (AIG), she held several high-impact leadership positions, including head of external communications, interim head of corporate communications for the Americas and global executive leadership communications officer. In these roles, Ana led corporate communications strategies across the U.S., Canada, Latin America and Bermuda.; advanced AIG's brand and reputation through consistent messaging, executive visibility, media relations and thought leadership. She managed key relationships with regional press, regulatory entities, industry organizations and corporate partners, and oversaw corporate social responsibility initiatives and external award strategies.
Ana also served as communications and marketing Director for MDC Live Arts at Miami Dade College, where she developed integrated campaigns to support public programs and institutional visibility. Earlier in her career, Ana held various leadership roles in Colombia, including general counsel for Termovalle and assistant director of international relations at Universidad del Valle.
Ana earned her Juris Doctor from Universidad de San Buenaventura in Cali, Colombia. With more than 25 years of experience, she combines her legal expertise with a deep understanding of marketing, communications and strategic development to drive impactful initiatives. She thrives in dynamic, complex environments and is passionate about advancing education, health and community engagement through innovative strategies.
