Long Bio
Daisy is a PhD Student in Spanish Linguistics and Graduate Teaching Associate of Spanish. Her research interests include heritage language pedagogy, the sociopragmatic dimension of heritage Spanish, Spanish in the United States, language ideologies, and critical approaches to language education. She has taught both L2 and heritage courses and currently teaches exclusively in the heritage program. Her work is driven by a commitment to validating students' sociocultural and linguistic experiences both inside and outside the classroom. More broadly, she seeks to contribute to more equitable, representative and critically informed approaches to heritage language education.
