Raised by a contractor father, Greg attended ASU and received a BSD from ASU in 1987 and a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan in 1991. Greg joined the profession after school in pursuit of increasing his architecture knowledge and impacting the life of others. This pursuit took form in 2002 when he founded GE Wattier Architecture in Denver, Colorado. In 2003 he moved the firm to Des Moines Iowa and in 2012 the firm evolved into Slingshot Architecture. While there were many factors that led to the success of early Slingshot, one of them was Greg’s attention and desire to mentor young employees in their young professional journey. In 2022 after 20 years at the helm, Greg passed Slingshot to his partners and embarked on a new chapter returning to Arizona. Upon returning, he began teaching at Arizona State University as a Faculty Associate while also starting a new architecture firm named Strataz. Today Greg is passionately pursing life in the desert, teaching as a Faculty member at Arizona State University and exploring desert architecture with Strataz.
