Long Bio
Hello! I’m Amanda Ortega (she/her), and I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work (MSW) at the Arizona State University Tucson campus. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from ASU, where I developed a foundation in advocacy, mental health practice, and community engagement. This is my first year serving as a Course Assistant, and I am excited to support students and contribute to the ASU learning community. My background also includes experience with the Aztec Resource Center at Pima Community College, where I worked to address food insecurity and expand student access to resources. My academic interests focus on clinical social work, trauma-informed care, and the connection between basic needs and mental health.
