Jun Hyun (Joseph) Ryoo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing. He is an empirical researcher that applies econometric and machine learning methods to address marketing problems involving unstructured data (e.g., texts, images). Particularly, he develops and validates measures that extract interpretable insights from online data to assist managerial decision making. His work has appeared in Journal of Marketing, Journal of Retailing, and Customer Needs and Solutions, and was a finalist for the Donald R. Lehmann Award in 2023.
Prior to joining Arizona State University, Joseph Ryoo served as a faculty member at City University of Hong Kong from 2021 to 2023.
