Long Bio
Kylie Frontczak is a doctoral student and graduate teaching assistant in the Department of English at Arizona State University (ASU). Born and raised in Arizona, she earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in English and Secondary Education from ASU, followed by a Master’s in Education with honors. Before beginning her doctoral studies in English Education, she taught high school English in the Phoenix area and worked with teacher development programs across Arizona.
Her early research examined multimodal composition and reader-response pedagogies in secondary education as tools to foster engagement and literacy comprehension. Her current research examines how metaphors, narratives, and rhetorical strategies shape public perceptions of generative AI technologies, particularly how these frameworks influence teaching practices, institutional policies, and students’ experiences with writing and learning. At ASU, her work bridges rhetoric, writing studies, and educational technology, contributing to projects that investigate AI attitudes, teacher professional development, and the role of language in shaping public discourse around emerging technologies.
