Kylie Frontczak is an educational researcher, doctoral student, and graduate teaching assistant at Arizona State University (ASU). Born and raised in Arizona, she completed two Bachelor’s degrees from ASU in English and Secondary Education before completing her Master’s in Education, where she graduated with honors. Before entering the English Education doctoral program at ASU, she worked as a high school ELA teacher in the suburban Phoenix area and currently teaches in the Department of English at ASU. Her previous research has focused on the use of multi-modalities and reader-response theory in secondary education as a means to increase student engagement and literacy comprehension. Her current research explores how metaphors, narratives, and rhetorical strategies shape public perceptions of generative AI technologies, especially in educational contexts by focusing on how these discursive frameworks influence teaching practices, institutional policies, and students’ experiences with writing and learning in both secondary and postsecondary settings
