Tami Hill-Washington is the Executive Director of the Center for Whole Child Education at the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University (ASU). In this role, she leads efforts to translate insights from scientific research, educator practice, and student experience into practical tools and resources that help educators design learning environments responsive to the needs of every young person.
Before joining ASU, Tami spent a decade at Turnaround for Children, a New York City–based nonprofit, where she focused on implementing Whole Child Design in collaboration with county offices, school districts, and strategic partners. Her extensive background as a secondary education teacher, school leader, adjunct professor, and consultant has deeply informed her approach to transformative change in education.
In addition to her education leadership, Tami brings ten years of private-sector experience in executive administration and office management, further strengthening her capacity to bridge strategy, operations, and impact across diverse contexts.
