Jose A. Quiroga is the Director of Global Development at the Office of Global Outreach and Extended Education (GOEE) in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering (FSE) at Arizona State University (ASU). In this role, he leads the development of international research and education projects in engineering with university, industry, and government partners. His key focus is the management of capacity-building projects, such as the US-ASEAN Science, Technology, and Innovation Cooperation (STIC) Program, the Mekong US Partnership (MUSP) Young Scientist Program, the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI), and the Higher Engineering Education Alliance Program (HEEAP) in Vietnam. Mr. Quiroga works to establish new international projects that promote Public-Private Partnerships and Industry/University consortia.
Mr. Quiroga also leads the development of international professional and executive education programs for the Schools of Engineering. In this function, he works closely with organizations worldwide to design custom educational programs to address specific continuous education needs in several sectors, such as semiconductors and microelectronics, medical devices, high-tech manufacturing, information, and communication technologies, among others.
Before joining GOEE, he served as the Vice President of Operations at Predictive Technologies Corporation, a start-up company that develops web-based, open-collaboration platforms capable of analyzing massive quantities of information to support data-driven decision making.
Prior to Predictive Technologies, Mr. Quiroga served in the Office of the President at Arizona State University as a Global Partnerships Coordinator, where he led a portfolio of projects with international academic institutions in the fields of research, entrepreneurship, and educational programs.
Jose A. Quiroga has a Master’s of Science in Electronic Systems Engineering from Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico; a Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Arizona State University; and is certified in Lean Six Sigma for Operational Excellence.
