Holly Solberg is the Sr. Director of Global Implementation and Impact of ASU’s International Development Initiative (IDI). The IDI team works with ASU faculty and administrative experts to advance partnerships in countries in the global south to transform research into tangible positive impact on populations served. In this role, Ms. Solberg provides strategic oversight and management of IDI’s implementation and impact efforts, managing a team dedicated to providing fit-for-purpose administrative and operational support to the effective implementation of ASU’s international development projects.
With her first overseas role as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala, Ms. Solberg has more than 30 years of experience in the field of international development and humanitarian assistance, working for social, gender, and environmental justice and equality. Ms. Solberg has worked in the non-profit sector in several countries across Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. She is well known as a motivational and diplomatic thought leader with recognized competencies in crafting vision and strategy, translating strategy into operational tactics, and leading teams towards the delivery of common objectives.
Ms. Solberg has a Master of Arts (MA) in Humanitarian Assistance from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and the School of Nutrition Science and Policy, at Tufts University. Ms. Solberg is an American citizen currently residing in Tempe, Arizona. She is a native English speaker and is fluent in Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, yoga, music, and spending time with friends and family, and her dog, Rigsby.
