Kai Sun received her doctorate in Human Development and Family Science from Syracuse University. Prior to joining Arizona State University, she was a postdoc researcher of Psychology at New York University.
Sun's scholarship reflects her personal and professional identity: an aspiring developmental psychologist who is committed to becoming a specialist in human development in the context of immigration and gendered work-family culture. Her specific interests vary substantially across different domains of developmental and family psychology; however, she has two primary and ongoing research focuses: investigating how cultural identities influence early childhood development and parenting processes, and understanding the intersections of work and family for young parents with a focus on gender role ideology.
She enjoys teaching in broader areas of psychology and is committed to providing students with the tools they need to become competent contributors to psychology.
