Long Bio
David is a theoretical physicist with a background in high energy physics, cosmology, and astrophysics, and has recently become interested in atomic and molecular (AMO) physics. This is a fascinating area of research because of the ability to use lasers to precisely measure transitions between energy levels in simple atomic systems. These measurements can be compared against theoretical predictions to test the Standard Model of particle physics and to search for new physics beyond it. Such tests might, for example, confirm the dark matter hypothesis.
David loves doing and teaching physics, but he also likes to spend time outdoors rock climbing, trail running, and spending time with his dog, Burger.
