Mari Ching is a program coordinator with the Pacific Research on Island Solutions for Adaptation (RISA) and Global Institute of Sustainability and Innovation team based in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. She is responsible for working across ASU climate research and policy programs in the Hawai‘i and Pacific Islands region to carry out administrative tasks related to planning, organizing, and coordinating activities, functions, programs, communications, and travel.
Previously, Mari worked as a program officer with the research program at the East-West Center in
Honolulu; program coordinator at the Japan Society of Northern California in San Francisco; and a program manager at Pacific Forum CSIS in Honolulu, where she organized and attended numerous conferences and global programs on strategic and security related issues in the Asia-Pacific region.
Her background includes program management, international exchange, public relations, logistics and event planning, fundraising, and recruiting.
Mari received her BA in International Relations, with a focus on East Asia from Hawai‘i Pacific University.
