Mariana Lozovanu is a senior marketing and communications professional at Arizona State University’s New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, where she brings more than a decade of experience across marketing, communications, sales, and nonprofit community engagement.
Originally from Moldova, Lozovanu holds a background in journalism and public communication and has built her career around using strategic communication to strengthen relationships, support communities, and drive meaningful impact. Her work is grounded in a strong belief that communication is essential to problem-solving, collaboration, and positive change.
While advancing her career, she earned her Master of Arts in Communication from ASU’s Hugh Downs School of Human Communication, where she deepened her expertise in areas such as negotiation, conflict transformation, and training development. She is particularly passionate about applying research-based communication strategies to real-world challenges, including designing training programs that enhance organizational culture and effectiveness.
Beyond her professional role, Lozovanu serves as president of the Moldovan Community of Arizona, where she actively works to support and connect others, reflecting her ongoing commitment to leadership, service, and community building. Read more on ASU News.

This capstone portfolio, “Improving Feedback and Communication Practices at Arizona State University’s New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (NCIAS),” presents the culmination of my research, analysis, and applied communication strategies designed to enhance organizational feedback and engagement. The portfolio is organized into several key sections to guide the viewer through the full development process:
- The Background section introduces the purpose and context of the study, highlighting the importance of effective feedback within academic environments.
- The Organization section provides an overview of NCIAS and its unique interdisciplinary structure.
- In the Assessment section, you will find details about the needs assessment process, including survey data and interview insights used to identify communication gaps.
- The Problem section synthesizes these findings to define the core issues affecting feedback and collaboration within the college.
- The Solution section presents the proposed training and development module, complete with strategies, objectives and implementation plans designed to improve communication practices.
- Finally, the Follow-Up section outlines recommendations for sustaining progress and evaluating long-term impact. Each section builds upon the previous one, offering a cohesive and interactive narrative that illustrates how theory, data, and creativity combine to produce actionable organizational change.
