Kelvin Carrington Tichana is a proud Mastercard Foundation Alum and a graduate of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Ashesi University. With a strong foundation in IoT, Embedded Systems, Programming, and Telecommunications, Kelvin thrives on creating intelligent solutions that address everyday challenges.
During his studies, he designed the M.I.S.C.H.I.E.F smart home system, a low-cost, AI-powered innovation aimed at enhancing home automation in underserved regions. Built on a Raspberry Pi platform, this project not only received recognition from Raspberry Pi but also demonstrated Kelvin’s commitment to merging affordable hardware with practical software to solve real-world problems.
Currently, Kelvin works as a Data Management Associate at EdPlus at Arizona State University, where he contributes to Baobab.
In addition to his technical expertise, Kelvin has a passion for education and innovation. He co-founded the Impact Design Academy to provide underserved communities in Zimbabwe and Ghana with access to computing resources and programming education.
Kelvin envisions a future where technology bridges gaps in education, automation, and connectivity, especially in low-income regions, leveraging his skills to create impactful, scalable solutions.
