Long Bio
Amanda Johnson serves as Executive Director, Provost Initiatives, in the Academic Enterprise. Working in collaboration with the Executive Vice President and Provost, along with the provost's leadership team and colleagues across the ASU enterprise, Johnson works to design effective operational structures and practices to organize and advance the Academic Enterprise's growing portfolio of special projects and initiatives. Johnson has over a decade of experience working in higher education and operates strategically within ASU's matrixed structure.
Before joining the Academic Enterprise, Johnson served as Senior Director in the Office of Enterprise Development where she worked alongside ASU’s executive leadership team to establish connections and advance partnership opportunities at the C-suite level.
Prior to joining the Office of Enterprise Development, Johnson served as Senior Director in the Office of the President. In this role, she worked closely with the ASU President and executive leadership team to advance key enterprise-level projects, and helped to cultivate initiative and business development opportunities. In addition, she helped design and oversee the daily internal office operations and managed the presidential administrative support team.
Johnson's career at ASU started in the Knowledge Enterprise where she served as Associate Director, in support of the Executive Vice President and Chief Research and Innovation Officer. During Amanda’s tenure in this role, she managed presidential projects on behalf of the EVP, and successfully established office operations in order to advance the strategic portfolios of research, innovation, enterprise-level partnerships, entrepreneurship, and economic development for the university.
Johnson is a proud ASU alumna having earned a BA in Broadcast Journalism with an emphasis in Business Management from the College of Public Programs. Johnson is very passionate about community service, is a member of the National Association of Professionals Supporting Higher Education Leaders (NAPAHE), and serves as an active member of ASU’s Commission for the Status of Women (CSW).
