Ms. Sama has been employed at the Center for Health Information & Research (CHiR) at ASU for over 18 years. In her current position, she serves as the center’s manager, a research associate, the HIPAA privacy officer, and member of the senior leadership team. She has worked on most of the center’s research initiatives and projects in recent years from the proposal stage to project completion, including support and management functions and assistance with technical writing. Most recently, she has focused her efforts on data needs of local community organizations and health care providers, and she meets with clients and evaluates potential projects for feasibility and compliance impacts.
In the local community, Ms. Sama was as a bible teacher and singer. She served on the Board of Directors for the Research Administrator's Certification Council and the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) Arizona Chapter. She has previously tutored students of all ages. She edits resumes and proofreads written materials. She writes articles, essays, skits, one-of-a-kind cards, and other freestyle writings by inspiration and commission. Two of her foreign travel journals were designed into book form (unpublished to date).
Ms. Sama holds a B.S. in Computer Science, M.B.A in Technology Management, and Certification in Research Administration.
