W. P. Carey School of Business
Xavier J. Delgado is studying in the W.P.C School of Business at Arizona State University working towards a bachelor’s in finance and is in his second year. He is a second-generation college student with his mother being the first in their family to receive a college education. He will be the third person in his family to receive his bachelor’s with his older sisters being the first and second to receive their bachelor’s. He is dedicated to improving his knowledge base and motivated to improve his experience.
Before entering ASU, he went to a dual enrollment high school called Phoenix College Preparatory Academy where he graduated with both his high school diploma and associate’s degree. In high school he participated in student government where he learned how to interact with his peers to form ideas and complete tasks. The time he spent in student government was helpful due to it helping develop his leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills. One of his favorite activities was collaborating with his peers to create and plan out events for students to participate in, which included events like word games or puzzles. These activities required teamwork, interpersonal skills, organization, and critical thinking skills. He now uses these skills in his everyday life to interact with others to reach the best outcomes.
