Michael Kelly has over 20 years of experience in leadership and organizational development. As the Associate Director of Executive and Professional Development for Wayne State University, Mike was responsible for the development, design, marketing, implementation and evaluation of consulting engagements, customized leadership development, executive education and certificate programs for corporate clients. He did similar work at Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne, where he was the Director of Personal and Professional Development. He has connected organizations to higher education and leveraged resources from both to build, implement, and foster learning solutions that include training, research, consulting, strategic planning, executive coaching, and assessment.
Significant professional accomplishments include:
- a long-term Leadership Institute in partnership with Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana, a cohort-based program established to develop emerging talent across industry sectors.
- a Project Management Certificate Program that prepared working professionals to run effective projects in accordance with the Project Management Institute’s Book of Knowledge (PMBOK).
- an annual continuing education catalog of 800+ open-enrollment/public courses in leadership, business, computers, fitness, personal enrichment, languages, travel, and manufacturing.
- an Employee Assistance Specialist Professional Development Certificate for manufacturing associates tasked with supporting front line manufacturing workers.
- a robust, interdisciplinary continuing education program for government finance officials.
- establishing/leading/managing publicly funded educational programs including a Japanese Saturday School, regional Small Business Development Center, and urban Apex Accelerator.
- a Distinguished Manager Program for a local government providing training to emerging and seasoned leaders across the organization.
- multiple presentations on innovating learning solutions and processes to corporate clients, higher education consortiums and associations, and community groups.
