Aurelie is a PhD student in Transportation Planning and Policy at Arizona State University. Her research seeks to address the gap between knowledge and practice in transportation planning by analyzing the mechanisms leading to travel behavior change, and in particular, mobility transitions towards less car dependence. She studies the respective role of habits, exposure, and attitudes on the formation and disruption of travel behaviors. In particular, she focuses on the role of experience in shaping modal choices and decision-making processes in relation to the transportation – land-use system.
Her academic focus is grounded in over four years of professional experience as an urban planning consultant, contributing to transformative projects across Latin America and the Caribbean, including Transport Oriented Development (TOD), Community Engagement, Housing Policies, Master Plans, and Urban Regeneration initiatives. Aurelie also served as Project Officer for urban international cooperation programs facilitating peer-to-peer learning between cities across the globe, including the International Urban and Regional Cooperation Program (IURC) in Latin America and North America, as well as the Arctic Support Program (AURC).
Her integrated approach combines academic curiosity with practical experience, motivating her to contribute to the evolving field of transportation planning and urban policy through a lens of community empowerment.
