Gideon is a medical doctor from Ghana getting a PhD in Population Health (Implementation and Dissemination Science) at Arizona State University's College of Health Solutions. His research focuses on maternal and perinatal mental health, trauma-informed care, and the implementation of evidence-based interventions in underserved populations across Ghana and the United States. He currently serves as a Graduate Research Associate on the NIH-funded IMPROVE-CIP project, where he works to advance maternal health intervention design in Arizona.
Prior to joining ASU, Gideon practiced as a physician in Ghana, building clinical expertise in psychiatry at Ho Teaching Hospital, and in obstetrics and gynecology at Tamale Teaching Hospital, where he provided comprehensive maternal care to women in underserved communities. He holds a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology alongside his medical degree, and has further broadened his expertise through health policy work as a Policy Analyst at ASU's Enterprise Policy Analysis Group, contributing to federal policy analysis across health, higher education, and economic development.
