Che-Wei Liu is an Associate Professor of Information Systems at the W. P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University. His research interests include IT Labor, Mobile Health, Fintech, and Artificial Intelligence. Specifically, his research addresses the impact of digital technologies on users’ behaviors in areas such as mobile Health, IT labor market, stock market, or job interviews. His research has been accepted in premier journals such as Management Science (MS), MIS Quarterly (MISQ), Information Systems Research (ISR), Production and Operations Management (POM), Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), and Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization (JEBO).
His research has also been awarded the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) Best Paper runner-up and International Conference for Smart Health (ICSH) Best Paper Award runner-up. A student under his guidance earned a nomination for the Best Student Paper Award at Conference of Information Systems and Technology (CIST) 2023 for their joint work. His research efforts were acknowledged with the All-S.T.A.R. Fellowship and CIBER Ph.D. Research Award in 2017 (University of Maryland), the ODT Faculty Scholar Award from the Kelley School of Business (Indiana University) in 2021, and Information Systems Society (ISS) Gordon B. Davis Young Scholar Award in 2023.
His diverse collaborations with non-academic organizations highlight his dedication to applying academic research in practical settings. At AnueFund, he analyzed the effectiveness of robo-advisors during market fluctuations, providing valuable insights for investors. In partnership with Fotor, the world-leading digital photo creation, and AI image-generated platform, he explored various factors, including design changes, to understand their impact on user behaviors. His work with HRDA focused on the impact of AI on interview processes, while his analysis with Marathon World aimed at sustaining long-term healthy behaviors in users.
He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Maryland. Before joining ASU, he was a faculty member at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University.
