Joe Rody received a master’s degree in statistics from the University of Akron in 1975 and has been teaching at Arizona State University since 1990. Before coming to ASU, he was a high school mathematics teacher and cross country and track and field coach in northeast Ohio. From 2007 to 2011, he was associate director for freshman mathematics, during which time he was involved in overseeing all first and second year courses and the faculty teaching them. Rody has used a variety of online learning and assessment products, starting with WeBWork in the early 2000’s and continuing with ALEKS, MyMathLab, and presently WebAssign. He is currently teaching the two semester business calculus sequence which consists of single variable calculus during the first semester and multivariable calculus, finite mathematics, and probability and statistics during the second semester.
