Janett Silvers is a Senior Instructional Designer in the Office of the Provost at Arizona State University, where she supports university-wide initiatives in AI, faculty development, accessibility, and learning design. Her work focuses on translating institutional priorities into practical, faculty-centered strategies that enhance course design and improve the student learning experience.
With a decade of experience in higher education, Janett has collaborated with faculty, academic leaders, and cross-functional teams to design and scale high-quality learning experiences. She has led program-level course redesigns, mentored instructional design teams, and contributed to faculty development initiatives grounded in the learning sciences and inclusive teaching practices. Before ASU, she worked at California State University, Northridge, where she led faculty development programs, supported campus-wide instructional technology initiatives, and served as a Quality Assurance lead for online and hybrid learning.
Janett is particularly interested in the role of instructional designers as mediators of change in higher education. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Learning Design and Leadership at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on how instructional designers leverage AI to reduce systemic barriers and improve equity of experience for students.
