Ishrat Ahmed is a postdoctoral research scholar at the Learning Engineering Institute (LEI) and the AI Acceleration Unit at Arizona State University (ASU). Her work focuses on investigating GenAI-powered applications to support student learning and evaluating these applications for usability, instructional alignment, and learning outcomes. She also studies bias in Large Language Models (LLMs) to promote more equitable and ethical AI integration in higher education. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh with a focus on learning sciences and technology-enhanced learning, examining how social and contextual factors influence student collaboration in multiple educational environments. Her Ph.D. and postdoctoral experiences are highly complementary, combining rigorous training in study design, execution, and data analysis with real-world application in educational technology research. This blend of theoretical expertise and practical implementation makes her well-prepared for roles that require evidence-based product development, user research, and data-driven decision-making.
