Joel Webster is a Postdoctoral Scholar with the Center for American Institutions. His work focuses on the history of politics and conservatism in Modern America. He is in the process of turning his recent dissertation, “Most Unpatriotic and Unholy Alliance”: Reexamining the Origins of the Conservative Coalition in the United States Senate, 1933-9, into a book manuscript.
Prior to joining the Center, Webster received his B.A. in History at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (2013); his M.A. in United States History from James Madison University (2017); his M.S. in Information Sciences from the University of Tennessee (2018); and a doctorate in United States History at Texas Tech University (2024). While at Texas Tech University he also received a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Studies.
Aside from his research, Webster was named the Balch Outstanding Graduate Part-Time Instructor for his work in the classroom during the 2023-4 academic year from the Department of History at Texas Tech University.
